Alternative accommodation for business travellers is on the rise

It is no longer only couch surfers, backpackers and young people, who prefer renting a private apartment when spending time abroad. Business travellers have during the course of the last few years caught on and are increasingly choosing to rent a private apartment when on business trips or working abroad for an extended period.

The reasons business travellers choose private accommodation are quite similar to the motivations of the leisure travellers: People strive for authenticity when they travel, and they want to live like the locals in the city they visit - Eating at the same restaurants, drinking coffee at the same cafés and generally feel like they are part of the city they visit.

This is something we experience often in Apartment in Copenhagen, as our guests are always very keen on knowing where the owners of the apartment go for a quick bite Saturday afternoon or where they for example do their shopping. Even though business travellers visit Copenhagen primarily for work, they also want to spend their downtime doing something interesting in the city.

Furthermore, many business travellers who stay in Copenhagen for an extended period enjoy the privacy and homelike atmosphere at a private apartment, which also grants them the opportunity to have family visiting or even have meetings in their home. Some businesses though are still reluctant to use portals like Home-away or AirBnB, as it makes it a bit difficult if the company pays for the accommodation and need an official invoice. At Apartment in Copenhagen, we try to cater to this demand by offering better payment options for companies and a stable business-to-business relationship. Our core services that many businesses appreciate is our easy booking system, as well as the fact that we provide the same security as hotels, but in a more private and homely atmosphere.
