Tivoli is open all through Christmas. Even on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. However, the beautiful and old amusement part from 1843 closes at 4pm on the

Strøget is the pedestrian, traffic-free, 1.1 km shopping area in downtown Copenhagen. Strøget is extremely popular among locals and tourists alike, who want
to have an enjoyable time while also making the necessary Christmas shopping on Strøget. During Christmas, there are many temporary shops along Strøget
selling mostly traditional Danish Christmas candy such as caramelized almonds, or “brændte mandler” in Danish.
3. Christmas markets
Markets are generally very popular in Copenhagen, but Christmas markets are even more popular among the Danes. Going to Christmas markets is a favourite
weekend activity for families with children, where you can purchase any kind of Christmas-related goods – both edible and not. There are many Christmas
markets in Copenhagen, such as the one on Kultorvet, which is very popular, but also the one inside the Tivoli Gardens is an all-time favourite of many
Danes. If you want an alternative Christmas experience, the Christmas market in Christiania is also very recommendable.
